An  estimated average of 1.4 lac travelers have visited the cold desert state of Ladakh annually in the past three years which include the two districts of Leh and Kargil. To cater to these hungry travelers a number of restaurants and cafes have opened up. Here we list of some of the old timers, usual suspects and some new eating joints that you should not miss out on when you visit Leh. List is in no particular order.

1. The Tibetan Kitchen

One of the popular restaurants in the valley, The Tibetan Kitchen does not disappoint with the local cuisine being served at the restaurant. The chicken/mutton momos are delectable and so are the mutton/pork chilli dishes with Tingmo, the local Tibetan bread. Ask for the trout when available. Make sure you make prior reservations as it is mostly packed during the peak season between May and August.
