The International Mango Festival Is Bringing 500 Different Varieties Of Fabulous Aam To Delhi
Mango is the king of fruits, and there’s no doubt about that. The juicy, sweet, succulent mangoes make us crave for more and more. Can we ever get enough of them? We think not! The annual International Mango Festival is almost here, and we’re counting the days until it starts!
What To Expect?
What’s better than being at a mango festival? Indulging in a mango eating competition! Apart from that, you can witness the yellow, juicy fruit in 500 varieties at the festival. You can take home a wide variety of fresh mangoes, and even buy a small mango tree for your own garden. On display will be some of the yummiest, tastiest mango pickles, juices, jellies, and more. To cool down in the heat, they are even going to have stalls selling litres and litres of aam panna, aam ras (mango pulp), and a lot more. Every year since 1987, this mango festival at Dilli Haat has people flocking in from all over the world to display the best of mango varieties, and mango aficionados can’t help but go home with a huge grin and kilos of mangoes on their person.
So Much To Pick!
You can get your hands on some of the most popular, delicious mangoes that have interesting names too! Neeleshwari, Sikri, Royal SP, Suwarn, Himsagar, Raddy Pasand, Banganpally, Kensington, Dushehari, Langda, Chausa, Malda, Neelam, Papitiyo, Langra, Kesar, Sensation, Nazuk Badab, Fazli, Amrapali, Tommy Atkins, and Alphonso are just a few of the 500+ different varieties of mangoes that’ll be on display. From the Kaleemullah Khan’s nursery, varieties of mangoes like Aishwarya, Abdullah, and Bombay Green are brought here too. One of the rare species of mangoes—Gula by Tariq Mustafa from Purkazi in Muzaffarnagar is also displayed here.

Summer is here in full swing and so is the mango season. For once let’s forget about being calorie conscious and get ready for the craziness that this festival is going to bring! The festival will also host musical events and will have several versions of folk songs dedicated to the beauteous mango. Also, to satisfy the nerd in you, partake in the fun Mango Quiz and slogan writing competitions that they’re organising.
Of course, the goodies will have more mango treats that you can gorge on with your fam—or even just by yourself! We’re already dreaming about all that we can do with this amazing fruit. Who’s with us?!
